Bank of Korea Governor Lee Chang-yong Attends 'G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting'
The Bank of Korea announced on the 9th that Governor Lee Chang-yong will depart on the 12th to attend the 'G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting' and the 'International Monetary Fund (IMF) - World Bank Group (WBG) Spring Meetings' held in Washington DC, USA, and is scheduled to return on the 19th.
Governor Lee plans to participate in the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting to exchange views with finance ministers, central bank governors of member countries, and officials from international financial institutions on major financial market issues such as global economic trends and cryptocurrency regulation and supervision.
At the subsequent IMF-WBG Spring Meetings, discussions will focus on the global economic outlook, global financial stability, and global policy challenges.
During the meetings, Governor Lee has been invited to a high-level panel discussion hosted by the IMF, where he will discuss 'Central Banks' Response to Inflation' with key figures in the international financial community.
Participants in this discussion include Governor Lee, Gita Gopinath, IMF First Deputy Managing Director, Olivier Blanchard, Senior Fellow at the Peterson Institute (former IMF Chief Economist), Mohamed El-Erian, President of Queens College (former PIMCO CEO), and Silvana Tenreyro, Monetary Policy Committee member of the Bank of England (BOE).
