Kang Kyunghak, Vice President of Rural Development Corporation, Inspects Reservoir Maintenance Project Site
Vice President Kang Kyung-hak of the Korea Rural Community Corporation visited the site of the flood control capacity expansion project at Bulgab Reservoir in Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do on the 4th to inspect the safety management status.
The core of this project is to enhance flood exclusion capacity to prevent large-scale disasters by safely and quickly discharging water flow when floods occur, thereby preventing inundation.
The total project cost is 72.3 billion KRW, with construction starting in 2018 and scheduled to be completed in 2024.
Even if heavy rain pours down in a short period, the expanded spillway allows for rapid and safe discharge, which is expected to contribute to the prevention of natural disaster damage caused by heavy rain.
Vice President Kang Kyung-hak said, “As this project greatly helps improve the living environment of local residents and create safe living conditions, please do your best to ensure solid construction with a focus on safety until completion.”
He added, “Through systematic management of water resources, we will create conditions where farmers can cultivate with peace of mind and take the lead in realizing water welfare in rural areas.”
