View original imageLee Jeong-sik, Minister of Employment and Labor, reported assets worth approximately 1.65 billion KRW. The average assets of 15 executives from the Ministry of Employment and Labor headquarters and its affiliated organizations were estimated at about 2.173 billion KRW.
According to the high-ranking public officials' asset registration announced by the Government Ethics Committee on the 30th, Minister Lee's assets amount to approximately 1.6495 billion KRW. After selling a large amount of stocks he previously held, his assets decreased by about 10 million KRW compared to the asset registration in August last year.
Minister Lee's assets include an apartment in Gwacheon-si, Gyeonggi-do (1.264 billion KRW), farmland in Jecheon-si, Chungbuk (37.52 million KRW), deposits (216.2 million KRW), and stocks (25.6 million KRW).
Additionally, his mother reported a detached house in Jecheon-si, Chungbuk (26.6 million KRW) and deposits (31 million KRW), while his spouse and eldest son reported deposits of 34.9 million KRW and 13.7 million KRW, respectively.
When Minister Lee served as Secretary-General of the Korea Labor-Management Development Foundation in March 2020, his assets were about 1.074 billion KRW, but they increased by nearly 600 million KRW over three years. Minister Lee, who comes from the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, completed his term as Secretary-General in April 2020 and worked as an advisory member for Samsung Electronics from September of the same year until his nomination as minister.
Deputy Minister Kwon Ki-seop reported assets of 3.9972 billion KRW, an increase of 155.8 million KRW. Although the stocks he held declined somewhat, the prices of land and buildings rose significantly due to changes in publicly announced land prices.
Deputy Minister Kwon owns land in Daejeon City (521.5 million KRW), an apartment in Bundang, Seongnam (1.596 billion KRW), deposits (1.2375 billion KRW), and stocks (594.8 million KRW) under his name, his spouse's, and his eldest son's.
Among the Ministry of Employment and Labor headquarters and affiliated organizations, Kang Soon-hee, Chairperson of the Korea Workers' Compensation and Welfare Service, registered the highest assets at 5.1932 billion KRW. Her assets increased by about 466.3 million KRW due to a significant rise in apartment prices.
Chairperson Kang is a multi-homeowner with apartments in Seocho-gu, Seoul (1.387 billion KRW), Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul (783 million KRW), and a mixed-use commercial building in Incheon (150 million KRW) under her and her spouse's names. She also owns a commercial building in Anyang City (150 million KRW), deposits (2.8715 billion KRW), and golf memberships (400 million KRW).
The average assets of 15 high-ranking officials from the Ministry of Employment and Labor and its affiliated organizations whose assets were disclosed amounted to 2.1734 billion KRW.

Other officials reported include Oh Soo-bong, Chairperson of the Human Resources Development Service of Korea, with 4.8589 billion KRW; Noh Gwang-pyo, President of the Korea Employment and Labor Education Institute, with 2.8344 billion KRW; Ahn Jong-joo, Chairperson of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, with 2.5322 billion KRW; Lee Jeong-han, Director of the Labor Policy Office at the Ministry of Employment and Labor, with 2.2147 billion KRW; and Na Young-don, President of the Korea Employment Information Service, with 2.049 billion KRW.
