Local Autonomy Decentralization Council Holds 1st Quarter Regular Meeting
On the 29th, Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held the first quarter regular meeting of the Changwon City Local Autonomy and Decentralization Council for this year in the city council's main conference room.
The Changwon Special City Local Autonomy and Decentralization Council is composed of figures from various sectors of society, including academia, media, legal circles, and civic groups, to support citizens' local autonomy activities as well as develop local autonomy policies. It is responsible for various roles such as local autonomy education for citizens, discussion and development of local autonomy policies, and project consultation.

To help the members understand city administration, Changwon City shared major local autonomy projects currently underway, such as the ‘Special Act for Special City Promotion’ and the ‘Expedited Transfer of Administrative Authority,’ and introduced key trends in local autonomy. Time was allocated to discuss the council’s role in response to these matters.
Following this, a free discussion session was held regarding local autonomy projects led by the council, and the meeting concluded with a performance wishing for the prompt enactment of the Special Act for Special City.
