Seongdong-gu Songjeong Village Holds Spring Cherry Blossom Festival
On the 31st of this month, the 6th Songjeong Village Cherry Blossom Festival will be held on Songjeong Cherry Blossom Road for the first time in 4 years since 2019
The event will be full of activities including a Pungmul Nanta pre-performance starting at 11 a.m., invited singer performances, a residents' singing contest, and a food market
Seongdong-gu (Mayor Jung Won-oh) will hold the 6th Songjeong Village Cherry Blossom Festival on Songjeong Cherry Blossom Road on the 31st of this month, marking the first time in 4 years since 2019.
Songjeong Cherry Blossom Road was selected as one of the top 10 walking streets in Seoul and is a beloved promenade for residents throughout the four seasons, featuring cherry trees, ginkgo trees, and plane trees. It takes about 10 minutes on foot from Ttukseom Station and Seongsu Station on Line 2 to reach the Songjeong embankment road. The fully bloomed cherry blossoms along Songjeong embankment road stretch from Seongdong Bridge to Jangpyeong Bridge, following the embankments of the Dongbu Expressway and Jungnangcheon Stream.
This year, due to warm weather, the cherry blossoms bloomed early, so the festival, originally scheduled for early April, has been moved up. The Songjeong Village Cherry Blossom Festival will begin at 11 a.m. on the 31st with a Pungmul and Nanta pre-performance at Songjeong Sports Park, followed by congratulatory performances by invited singers such as Lee Ja-yeon and Yang Ji-won, along with a residents' singing contest.
In addition, various events such as ESG education experiences, leather craft workshops, and a food market will be held. Furthermore, a flea market by young entrepreneurs will be set up along Songjeong Cherry Blossom Road, and a photo zone utilizing the media art hall will also be installed.
Meanwhile, the 19th Geumhosan Cherry Blossom Festival will be held at Geumhosan Barefoot Park in Seongdong-gu starting at 10:30 a.m. on April 1st.
