Hapcheon-gun Selected for Rural Vulnerable Area Living Condition Improvement Project Competition
21 Billion KRW Invested Over 4 Years in Gyosan Village, Myosan-myeon
Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 28th that Geosan Village in Myosan-myeon was finally selected for the ‘2023 Rural Vulnerable Area Living Condition Improvement Project’ contest hosted by the National Balanced Development Committee.
To be selected for this contest, the village residents began holding project briefing sessions in October last year, followed by field surveys and preparation for the contest. After evaluations by Gyeongnam Province and the Balanced Development Committee, Geosan Village was confirmed as the final project site.
The Rural Vulnerable Area Living Condition Improvement Project targets underdeveloped villages with at least 30 households per administrative ri, where 40% or more of the houses have slate roofs or 40% or more of the houses are over 30 years old. The project aims to improve overall living conditions by upgrading slate roofs, renovating old houses, and ensuring residents can maintain a minimum quality of life.
The county plans to revitalize Geosan Village with various projects over four years from 2023 to 2026, with a budget of 2.07 billion KRW. In particular, to prevent safety accidents, measures such as anti-slip pavement, installation of safety guardrails, and intelligent CCTV installation at fatal accident sites and dangerous sections will be implemented to ensure that safety accidents never occur again in Geosan Village.
