Jeon Seung-il, Gwangju Seo-gu Council Member, Expands Eligibility for Childbirth Support Funds for Families with Disabilities
Jeon Seung-il, a member of the Gwangju Seo-gu Council, announced on the 22nd that the "Partial Amendment to the Ordinance on the Payment of Childbirth Support Funds for Disabled Families in Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City," which he proposed as the representative at the 310th extraordinary session, was passed as originally proposed.
As a result, families with disabled men from Seo-gu, Gwangju, who are married to non-disabled women, will also receive childbirth support funds.
Councilor Jeon stated, "The existing ordinance differentiated and provided support funds separately for disabled men and women," adding, "It is necessary to provide the support funds equally, reflecting the reality of gender equality and recognizing men as equal participants in childbirth and parenting."
Councilor Jeon said, "I will continue legislative activities to improve the welfare of district residents, promote policies directly linked to regional development, and realize projects for the residents through council activities."
