Police Request Arrest Warrants Considering Recidivism Period and False Residence Claims
A man in his 60s who stole cash while the owner briefly left his seat at a restaurant was caught by the police.
The Gwangju Bukbu Police Station announced on the 21st that they have applied for an arrest warrant for A (61) on charges of theft.
A is suspected of stealing 250,000 won in cash from a restaurant in Usan-dong, Buk-gu, last May.
According to the police investigation, the crime was committed when the owner left his seat around closing time of the restaurant.
At the time of the crime, A was still within the recidivism period shortly after his release and reportedly stated that he committed the crime due to a lack of living expenses as he had no steady job.
After receiving the case, the police tracked A for 10 months and arrested him in Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do. Considering that he did not have a fixed residence, they applied for an arrest warrant.
