Gochang-gun Confirms Gateway Park Name as 'Gochang Nadeulmok Park'

Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk recently announced on the 17th that the name of the park at the entrance of Gochang-eup has been finally confirmed as ‘Gochang Nadeulmok Park’ after a citizen preference survey and review by the County Administration Adjustment Committee.

‘Nadeulmok’ is a pure Korean word meaning a passageway for going in and out, a term familiar to everyone.

Gochang Nadeulmok Park, covering a total area of 134,450㎡ and equipped with a themed forest, walking trails, parking lot, and convenience facilities, is located at the entrance to the town center and received high marks for creativity.

The county plans to provide various green environments to residents by linking the existing parks (Life Sports Theme Park, Saemaeul Park) at the gateway where the downtown area begins.

In particular, this summer, a water play area is scheduled to open after reorganizing the idle space within the park. This will create a space that residents can easily access and use during the hot summer season.

Surrounding the water play area, park and sports facilities (jokgu court, artificial rock climbing wall, etc.) will be established, positioning it as Gochang-gun’s representative leisure, relaxation, and cultural space.

Park Jin-sang, head of the County Forest and Park Division, said, “We will make Gochang Nadeulmok Park a leisure space that can represent the county, so that not only Gochang residents but also tourists can fully enjoy and relax in the park.”
