Gyeonggi Office of Education Secures 12 Billion KRW for School Expansion Construction Costs
The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education has secured 12 billion KRW for school expansion construction costs to alleviate overcrowded classes.
On the 15th, the Gyeonggi Office of Education announced that it plans to use 12 billion KRW secured from school site charges through active consultations with Gyeonggi Province for expansion construction costs.
Until now, school site charges have been paid by apartment complex developers to Gyeonggi Province, which then supports half of the purchase costs for elementary, middle, and high school sites within the province to the Office of Education.
However, school site charges could not be used to support expansion costs for existing schools caused by development projects, making it difficult to alleviate overcrowded classes in schools that require timely expansion.
