Samsung Electronics Returns to '60,000 Won Stock' Status
The KOSPI and KOSDAQ started higher on the 15th. Both indices are showing an upward trend as the U.S. February Consumer Price Index (CPI) met expectations and the Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) crisis appears to be easing.
As of 9:20 a.m., the KOSPI is trading at 2,378.53, up 1.26% (29.56 points) from the previous day. The KOSPI opened at 2,380.09, up 1.32% (31.12 points) on the day.
Individual investors are driving the index. They are net buyers with 80.5 billion KRW. Foreigners and institutions are net sellers with 11.3 billion KRW and 71.9 billion KRW, respectively. Conversely, in the futures market, individuals are net sellers with 193.4 billion KRW, while foreigners and institutions are net buyers with 210.6 billion KRW and 2.5 billion KRW, respectively.
The number of rising stocks is 807, unchanged stocks 37, and declining stocks 76. There are no stocks hitting the upper or lower price limits at this time.
Among the top 10 stocks by market capitalization, only SK Hynix (-0.12%) is down. Samsung Biologics is unchanged. Kia leads with a 3.28% increase, followed by POSCO Holdings +1.90%, Samsung Electronics +1.69%, NAVER +1.43%, and LG Chem +1.42%.
Samsung Electronics has returned to the "60,000 won" level, gradually increasing its upward momentum to reach 60,100 won.
As of 9:31 a.m., the KOSDAQ is at 774.06, up 2.11% (16.01 points) from the previous day. The KOSDAQ is trading at 774.53, up 2.17% (16.48 points) on the day.
The KOSDAQ's rise is being led solely by foreign investors, who are net buyers with 19.3 billion KRW. Meanwhile, individuals and institutions are net sellers with 15.1 billion KRW and 5.2 billion KRW, respectively.
Among the top 10 stocks by market capitalization, all are rising except for Osstem Implant, which is unchanged. EcoPro is surging 11.86%. This surge is attributed to expectations of benefits from the European Critical Raw Materials Act (CRMA) and the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on European waste battery recycling with SK Ecoplant.
