HanmiGlobal Secures Additional Contract for 20,000 Worker Dormitory Units at NEOM City Construction Site
HanmiGlobal announced on the 15th that it has signed the main contract for the monitoring project of the 20,000-unit construction worker accommodation complex in NEOM City, Saudi Arabia. Following the service contract for the 50,000-unit residential complex signed in November last year, the company will manage a total of 70,000 units.
This project is part of a large-scale development to build 489,500 accommodation units on a total site area of 26.4k㎡ (8 million pyeong) in the Tabuk region of northwestern Saudi Arabia. In addition to accommodations, sports and entertainment facilities, restaurants, medical facilities, religious facilities, and multipurpose facilities will also be established.
HanmiGlobal will be responsible for project monitoring from the design phase of the complex, including order placement and construction management, on-site safety and environmental management, handling of completion defects, inspection management after usage approval, and mediation of various construction-related disputes. The amount of the second contract is 6.3 billion KRW, with a cumulative total of 15 billion KRW for the first and second contracts. The project period is until August 2024.
HanmiGlobal also announced that it signed the main contract this year for the development of the document management system for NEOM City. By November next year, the company plans to establish document management policies and systems for the design and construction sectors of NEOM, support efficient management of electronic and printed documents, operate the Project Management Information System (PMIS), and provide training and usage support for employee document management systems.
Regarding NEOM City, HanmiGlobal signed the country’s first special comprehensive program management (e-PMO) service contract in 2021. In addition, the company has secured a total of seven construction service contracts so far, including global advisory services in three areas: general project management, transportation, environment, and sustainability.

A HanmiGlobal official stated, "Since 2007, we have carried out more than 30 projects in Saudi Arabia, including new town developments, which has given us a high understanding of the local business environment and advanced construction project management (PM) work processes such as building digital collaboration spaces." He added, "For large overseas projects like NEOM City, it is preferable to create synergy by participating as 'Team Korea' in a public-private partnership rather than winning contracts through bidding."
