Gwangju Buk-gu, Promotion of Support for Specialized Fields of Small and Medium Enterprises
Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, is taking steps to foster and support startups, venture companies, and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with promising technologies.
On the 13th, Buk-gu announced that it has signed an agreement with the Gwangju branch of the Korea Invention Promotion Association, the Gwangju Design Promotion Agency, and the Gwangju Economic and Employment Promotion Agency to implement the "2023 SME Specialized Field Support Project."
This project was established to enhance technological competitiveness and revitalize the local economy by providing customized support to promising SMEs struggling with financial difficulties.
Accordingly, Buk-gu will invest a total project budget of over 500 million KRW to support five areas: ▲ intellectual property rights acquisition ▲ brand design development ▲ production of prototypes for excellent technologies ▲ workplace safety and environmental improvement ▲ startup funds for prospective entrepreneurs.
To promote technological development of SMEs and prevent patent disputes, support will be provided for intellectual property rights application and registration, including patent rights analysis and patent technology simulation production.
Additionally, competitiveness of SMEs facing difficulties in design and product manufacturing will be strengthened through support for brochure, catalog, prototype production, and trial production.
Furthermore, support will be provided for creating safe working environments, such as renovation of workspaces, ventilation facilities, and noise prevention facilities, and startup education and consulting will be offered to prospective entrepreneurs.
Moon In, the head of Buk-gu Office, said, "We have prepared various support projects to secure competitiveness and stabilize management for SMEs struggling due to the economic downturn. We will continue to actively implement support policies so that local SMEs can grow into sound mid-sized companies."
