Busan Office of Education Promotes Acquisition of 'Educational Facility Safety Certification' for All Educational Institutions
Busan Metropolitan Office of Education is promoting the acquisition of ‘Education Facility Safety Certification’ for all educational institutions in the Busan area by 2025 to provide students with a safe and comfortable educational environment.
The Education Facility Safety Certification system is designed to provide a safe educational environment for students through expert inspections of safety vulnerabilities in educational facilities and improvements in vulnerable areas, in accordance with the ‘Act on Safety and Maintenance Management of Educational Facilities, etc.’
The safety certification is conducted in three areas: ▲facility safety ▲indoor environment safety ▲external environment safety, covering 49 items. When individual schools submit self-evaluation reports, a Ministry of Education-designated professional organization conducts document and on-site inspections and awards ratings such as ‘Excellent’ and ‘Outstanding’.
The Busan Office of Education plans to obtain safety certification for 276 schools and institutions this year and complete the safety certification for all 954 educational institutions in the Busan area by 2025.
To this end, the Office of Education will hold ‘Education Facility Safety Certification Training’ at 2 p.m. on the 13th in the main auditorium of the Office of Education, targeting about 350 personnel including those in charge of educational institutions and administrators.
