60s Firefighter Collapses at Hadong Wildfire Site, Dies in Hospital

A male firefighter in his 60s who was deployed to the wildfire site in Hwagae-myeon, Hadong-gun, Gyeongnam, which occurred on the 11th, has died.
According to the forestry authorities, the man, a wildfire specialist firefighter affiliated with Jinju City, lost consciousness and collapsed around 10:04 PM near the mid-slope of a mountain close to the wildfire site that day.
He was given emergency treatment including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and transported to a hospital, but ultimately passed away.
The forestry authorities, considering the rugged terrain that prolonged the firefighting operation and the accumulated fatigue of the firefighters, withdrew the personnel from the site around 11:30 PM.
