Yangju City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 10th that it has requested a joint response from Gyeonggi Province, including proposals to establish alternative buses following the shortening of Bus No. 704, which operates from Seoul Station to Jangheung-myeon in Yangju City.
Yang Soo-hyun, Mayor of Yangju City, urged the resolution of the issue regarding the shortening of bus route 704 to ensure the mobility rights of local residents and improve transportation welfare at the Gyeonggi-do Mayors and County Governors Council held in Namyangju City on the 6th.

According to the city, Mayor Kang Su-hyun of Yangju pointed out at the 2nd regular meeting of the 8th term Gyeonggi Province Mayors and County Governors Council held in Namyangju City on the 6th that "Recently in Seoul, due to long-distance operations, issues such as working conditions for transportation workers have been raised, leading to the shortening of 27 bus stops in the Jangheung area, causing inconvenience to residents and severe backlash."
He added, "Although Yangju City is adjacent to Seoul, it suffers disadvantages due to overlapping regulations in the metropolitan area. Therefore, to guarantee the mobility rights of local residents and improve transportation welfare, we will work to resolve the issue of the shortening of Bus No. 704's route."
