The city aims to improve the quality of life and welfare of merit recipients and their families, while strengthening appropriate support and respect so that they can receive more honorable treatment.
To carry out the project, the city secured a total budget of 100 million KRW this year.
Using this fund, the city plans to inspect and repair facilities such as electrical and gas systems, wallpaper and flooring replacement, and sink and window replacement for 20 households of national merit recipients and their families in the region, with up to 5 million KRW per household.
National merit recipients who wish to apply for the project can submit an application form to their local eup/myeon office or dong community center by the 31st.
For more details, inquiries can be made to the Welfare Planning Team of the Social Welfare Division at City Hall.
Mayor Lee Hak-su said, "I hope this helps improve the housing satisfaction and quality of life for the merit recipients who devoted themselves to the country," adding, "We will continue to do our best to foster a social atmosphere of respect for national merit recipients and their families."
Meanwhile, the city has been the only one in the province to promote the housing environment improvement project for national merit recipients since 2021.
Also, until last year, the project was carried out for 22 households of national merit recipients, contributing to the improvement of their quality of life and welfare, receiving great responses.
