Hoban Scholarship Foundation Awards Total of 1 Billion KRW in Scholarships to Over 400 Recipients

View original imageHoban Scholarship Foundation of Hoban Group held the ‘2023 Hoban Scholarship Award Ceremony’ on the 9th at Hoban Park in Seocho-gu, Seoul. About 100 people attended the event, including Kim Sang-yeol, Chairman of Hoban Scholarship Foundation, Woo Hyun-hee, Chairman of Hoban Cultural Foundation, Kim Seon-gyu, Chairman of Hoban Group, Kim Dae-heon, President of Hoban Group Planning, Kim Min-seong, Executive Director of Hoban Industry, scholarship recipients, and employees.
This year, Hoban Scholarship Foundation is providing a total of 1 billion KRW in scholarships to over 400 students. At the event, the Hobanhoe Scholarship, which supports students for four years, was awarded, and this year’s ‘Regional Talent Scholarship’ and others will also be supported.
Established in 1999 by Chairman Kim Sang-yeol with his private funds, Hoban Scholarship Foundation has been steadily conducting scholarship projects, talent development, and academic research support programs. Over 24 years, the foundation has nurtured about 8,700 scholarship recipients and provided scholarships totaling 15.4 billion KRW. Since 2022, it has been striving to discover innovative ideas from university students to solve social problems and support future innovative talents through the Social Value Creation Contest.
Kim Sang-yeol, Chairman of Hoban Scholarship Foundation, said, "I feel proud to see the scholarship recipients supported by the foundation playing pivotal roles throughout society," adding, "I hope the scholarship recipients set high goals, take on challenges, grow, and become talents who enrich our society."

Hobanhoe scholarship recipient Moon Ji-yoon, a student in the Department of Life Sciences at Korea University, expressed, "I am grateful that the scholarship allows me to focus solely on my studies. I will contribute to society as a science and technology scholar who writes and communicates with people."
