Jeju Fire Department Implements Special Guard Duty at Fire Stations During Deulbul Festival Period

The Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Fire Safety Headquarters announced on the 9th that it will conduct special alert duty at fire stations during the Jeju Deulbul Festival from the 11th to the 12th.

The Jeju Fire Safety Headquarters expects many visitors to the Jeju Deulbul Festival, which has become a nationwide festival, and will initiate special alert duty led by fire station chiefs to take the lead in initial response during the festival period.

During the alert duty period, an emergency response posture centered on fire station chiefs will be established to prepare for fire outbreaks, maintaining an emergency contact system among firefighters and volunteer firefighters, as well as strengthening cooperation with related organizations.

Firefighting forces will be strategically deployed at the Deulbul Festival site, and an on-site command center operating a rapid response team will be set up to enable initial response measures, thereby enhancing safety management of the Deulbul Festival.

An on-site emergency medical team will operate during the festival, and an emergency safety team will also be deployed to prepare for mass casualty incidents, establishing safety measures for multiple casualties.

Two emergency vehicle routes directly connected to the site will be secured to serve as emergency passages for the rapid deployment of fire trucks and smooth patient transport by ambulances.

The Jeju Fire Department will strictly manage and supervise the prohibition and restraint of fire use within the Deulbul Festival venue, and in case of emergencies such as fire spread, a system will be established to dispatch support firefighting forces from neighboring fire stations (Jeju, Seogwipo) to prepare for any eventuality.

Director Park Geun-o said, “We plan to mobilize all available assets such as personnel and equipment to focus on safety management,” and added, “We ask for active cooperation with the fire authorities’ safety management so that everyone can safely enjoy the festival.”
