Sacheon-si, "No Large Forest Fires in Spring"
Special Measures for Large Wildfire Prevention
Sacheon City in Gyeongnam Province is implementing a ‘Special Measures for Large Spring Wildfires’ as the national crisis alert for wildfire disasters has been raised to the caution stage.
This special measure was initiated to prevent large wildfires, which have an increased risk due to spring farming activities and frequent dry and strong wind advisories.
The city has designated the period until April 30 as the special measure period for large spring wildfires and plans to establish and operate a Wildfire Comprehensive Situation Room (Greenery and Parks Division) and a Wildfire Prevention Headquarters (Eup, Myeon, Dong Administrative Welfare Centers). However, the Dongseogeum-dong Administrative Welfare Center is excluded.

The city plans to deploy and operate a total of 140 personnel focused on wildfire-prone areas, including 100 wildfire watchers for early detection, initial suppression, and promotion of burning bans, and 40 specialized wildfire prevention and suppression team members for wildfire disaster response.
