Damyang-gun Invests 1.1 Billion Won to Improve National and Local Roads with Frequent Traffic Accidents
Improvement of Juknokwon Back Gate and Manseong Roundabout
On the 7th, Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it will promote improvement projects for two locations on national and local roads where traffic accidents frequently occur.
First, the roundabout at the back gate of Juknokwon on National Route 29 is a site where four traffic accidents (12 minor injuries) occurred in 2021 alone. The Jeollanam-do Road Management Office will invest 800 million KRW to carry out improvement projects.
Also, the roundabout at Manseong on Local Route 15 is a site where six traffic accidents (1 serious injury, 8 minor injuries) occurred. Damyang-gun will invest 320 million KRW to complete the project within this year.
For the roundabout at the back gate of Juknokwon, the type of roundabout will be changed.
The current two-lane roundabout will be changed to a “one-lane roundabout + right-turn lane,” and the installation of traffic safety facilities will be promoted.
At the Manseong roundabout, the inscribed circle of the roundabout will be reduced, and traffic safety signs, raised crosswalks, and colored pavement guide lines will be installed.
