Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (President Park Seong-hyun, YGPA) announced on the 28th that it will promote the 2023 ‘YGPA Social Economy Enterprises Overseas Market Development Support Project’ to establish a foundation for overseas market entry and expand sales channels for social economy enterprises in the region.
This project targets social economy enterprises in the Yeosu, Gwangyang, and Suncheon areas and supports three stages: ▲‘Export Preparation Support’ such as producing foreign language catalogs ▲‘Client Discovery Support’ including participation in exhibitions and professional advertising ▲‘Contract Signing Stage Support’ which provides interpretation/translation, logistics costs, and other consulting services.
Small and medium-sized enterprises wishing to participate in the project can apply online by referring to the announcement posted on the YGPA website or Sangsaengnuri.
YGPA plans to select six companies as support recipients through a prescribed evaluation of applications received by March 10 and provide 3 million KRW per company.
Choi Yeon-cheol, Vice President and Head of the Management Headquarters, in charge of win-win cooperation, said, “We expect this to be a great help in discovering overseas export markets and alleviating export difficulties for local social economy enterprises struggling amid economic hardships such as global inflation and interest rate hikes.”
Vice President Choi added, “We will systematically support the selected companies to achieve tangible results such as signing contracts with overseas clients and expanding sales.”
