Resolution Passed at the 8th Meeting
On the 28th, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety held the 8th meeting of the Police System Development Committee (Chairman Park In-hwan) at the Government Seoul Office and announced that the committee's duration will be extended by three months, operating until June 5.
The Police System Development Committee was established under the Prime Minister on September 6 last year to ensure democratic management of the police and efficient mission performance, and was originally scheduled to operate for six months until March 5 this year.
So far, through the committee, reports have been made on the introduction of a multiple rank system, salary increases to the level of public security personnel, and shortening of the minimum years required for promotion, and all related matters have been improved through amendments to the Presidential Decree on the police system.
However, during the 8th meeting, while reviewing the agenda items discussed so far by the Police System Development Committee, opinions were raised that additional discussions are necessary.
