Yeongam-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Woo Seung-hee) held a meeting to participate in the campaign to find hometown heroes.
According to the county on the 28th, on the 23rd, a meeting was held to participate in the "Find Hometown Heroes Campaign" with eight attendees including Governor Woo Seung-hee, Shin Dae-je, president of the Military Merit Recipients Association, and Shin Gi-jin, head of the Army Headquarters' 6.25 War Military Merit Medal Recovery Investigation Team.

Investigation team leader Shin Gi-jin stated, "Many people who participated in the 6.25 War and were recognized as recipients of military merit medals have not yet received their medals," adding, "Most of the recipients are elderly, so there is not much time left," and requested active promotion and support.
In this regard, the county plans to promote awareness of military merit medal recipients within the jurisdiction using SNS and other means.
The investigation team has designated April 24 to 28 as the intensive inquiry period for the "Find Hometown Heroes" campaign and plans to conduct visits and investigations in 11 towns and townships.
Governor Woo Seung-hee said, "There are many hidden heroes who protected the Republic of Korea in Yeongam as well," and added, "Before it is too late, we will fulfill our responsibility to the patriotic heroes who devoted themselves to the country and their families."
