Haman-gun Conducts Honorary Projects for National Veterans
The Final Journey of National Meritorious Persons, the Highest Honor
Haman-gun will implement the ‘National Veterans Commemoration Project,’ which provides funeral supplies when a national merit recipient passes away, starting from March.
The National Veterans Commemoration Project is designed to offer the highest honors on the final journey of national merit recipients and to boost the pride of their families. It supports more than 10 types of funeral convenience items, including condolence wreaths, wet tissues, and blankets, for national merit recipients residing in Haman-gun upon their death.
Lee Moon-seok, Director of the County Welfare Policy Division, stated, “When the ‘Veterans Affairs Office’ is upgraded to the ‘Veterans Affairs Department,’ it must be accorded appropriate honors. We will do our best to honor national merit recipients and promote their dignity through various national veterans commemoration projects.”
Last year, the county supported 302 national veterans aged 70 with longevity photos and walking sticks, and expanded the eligibility for veterans’ allowances from those aged 65 and above to all ages, making efforts to spread a culture of veterans’ honor.
