View original imageOn this day, Mayor Lee stated, “To secure an overwhelming competitive edge in the new industry sector, which is the core driving force for Pohang to grow into a world-class city, meticulous and proactive preparation is crucial,” and at the same time, he urged, “Please carry out detailed and comprehensive policies in all areas of city administration closely related to citizens’ lives, such as welfare, safety, and the environment.”
First, he said, “I hope you will devote all your efforts to advancing long-standing projects such as attracting the ‘Secondary Battery Specialized Complex,’ which will be a turning point for Pohang to leap forward as a global secondary battery hub city, establishing the ‘POSTECH Research-Oriented Medical School,’ which will serve as a focal point for building an innovative bio-health industry ecosystem, and the relocation of POSCO Holdings to Pohang.”
Along with this, he requested, “With the arrival of spring, please be thorough in preventing forest fires, and prepare for the rainy season by carefully focusing administrative efforts on river dredging and inspection of water supply and sewage facilities to ensure citizens’ safety.”
The mayor particularly emphasized, “Attracting companies with innovative technology and competitiveness is paramount to revitalizing the local economy through the creation of quality jobs,” and reiterated, “I ask all staff to have the mindset of being ‘Investment Attraction Officers’ and to establish a close corporate support system through active cooperation and communication among departments.”
