Boseong-gun Hosts Boseong Autonomy Forum Inviting Shin Junho, Director of Ministry of Economy and Finance

The "Boseong Tea Direction" Seen Through Taiwan's Tea Industry

Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do, announced that on the 23rd, it held the 357th Boseong Autonomous Forum under the theme "Development Direction of Boseong Tea Industry Viewed Through Taiwan Oolong Tea," inviting Shin Junho, Director General of Development Finance at the Ministry of Strategy and Finance.

Director Shin Junho is the author of the book Enjoying Taiwan Oolong Tea a Hundredfold, which interestingly weaves the history and types of Taiwan Oolong tea. He is a tea expert with outstanding international insight and perspective on tea.

Boseong County invited Junho Shin, Director General of Development Finance at the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, to hold the Boseong Autonomous Forum under the theme "Development Direction of Boseong Tea Industry Viewed Through Taiwan Oolong Tea."

The autonomous forum, held for the first time this year, was conducted with tea as the theme in line with the hosting of the 11th Boseong World Tea Expo.

Director Shin emphasized the importance of shifting the perception that tea is not merely agriculture but a comprehensive industry by analyzing the success factors of Taiwan's tea industry.

In particular, Taiwan's success factors in the tea market were analyzed as systematic support in tea cultivation management and research, fierce competition in product development at the production level, and a culture among consumers of starting and ending the day with tea.

Director Shin stated, "Boseong-gun also needs to have a vision for how to develop the tea industry going forward," adding, "I hope the administration will provide systematic support for seedling distribution and share and apply the trends and strengths of other cities and counties with farmers."

Governor Kim Cheol-woo said, "This autonomous forum was a valuable opportunity not only to raise the awareness level of residents and public officials and deliver information but also to promote our county through an instructor with specialized knowledge of tea," and added, "We will continue to strive to make the autonomous forum fruitful by inviting more diverse topics and lecturers."

Meanwhile, Boseong-gun is conducting the Boseong Autonomous Forum by inviting lecturers from various fields such as health, economy, society, arts, and duties, and plans to expand the forum to have more communication and empathy with residents.
