Gwangju City Supports Driving License Acquisition Costs for Vulnerable Youth
Up to 300,000 KRW Per Person for 500 Participants
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kang Gijeong) announced on the 23rd that it will support the driving license acquisition costs for 500 vulnerable youth.
This initiative was promoted to help vulnerable youth in their job search activities and reduce their economic burden.
Costs related to obtaining a driving license, such as driving school tuition and license test fees, will be supported up to a maximum of 300,000 KRW per person.
The support targets youth whose registered address is in Gwangju as of the announcement date (February 23), aged 19 to 39 at the time of obtaining the driving license, and who are recipients of the National Basic Livelihood Security or belong to the lower-income bracket, acquiring a new Class 1 or Class 2 ordinary driving license.
However, those who obtained their driving license before the announcement date, those re-acquiring a license after cancellation due to reasons such as drunk driving, or those reissuing due to loss or damage are excluded from the support.
Youth wishing to apply can visit the district office with jurisdiction over their registered address starting from March 2.
Detailed information can be found on the Gwangju Youth Policy Platform or the websites of the five district offices.
