Goheung-gun Education Development Committee Decides to Support Educational Projects with Over 2.4 Billion Won

Support Confirmed at the 2023 Delegates General Assembly

[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shim Jeong-woo] The Goheung-gun Education Development Committee (Chairman Gong Young-min) announced that it held the 2023 General Assembly of Delegates on the 22nd at Heungyang Hall in Goheung-gun Office, with directors and delegates in attendance.

At the General Assembly of Delegates, three agenda items were reviewed and resolved: ▲ 2022 business settlement ▲ 2023 business plan ▲ election of appointed and elected delegates. The main contents included supporting 28 educational support projects such as Goheung Office of Education support projects, fostering excellent prestigious high schools, fostering prestigious specialized high schools, and scholarship support with a total of 1.96 billion KRW, and 500 million KRW for operating costs of the middle and high school academy, which is promoted as a military consignment project, confirming a total support amount of about 2.4 billion KRW.

In particular, to secure the competitiveness of local schools by encouraging enrollment in elementary, middle, and high schools in the district, the congratulatory admission money, which had been supported only for high school students until last year, was decided to be expanded to elementary and middle school students. Additionally, a math competition was newly established besides the English and Korean history contests to improve math academic ability.

On this day, Chairman Gong Young-min said, “Good education is necessary to expect good talents, and good talents are necessary to expect a good future.” He added, “Let us gather passion and will for the precious dreams and future of Goheung-gun students with a sense of mission that the history of Goheung education’s next 100 years depends on each agenda of the Education Development Committee.”

Meanwhile, the Goheung-gun Education Development Committee has raised a fund of 25.8 billion KRW from military budget contributions and donations from residents, hometown people, and philanthropists since 2008, investing 10.9 billion KRW in local education projects, contributing to improving the educational environment and fostering local talents.
