Dong-A University, Farewell Ceremony for International Student Graduates
49 Undergraduate Students and 61 Graduate Students Graduated
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Dong-A University (President Lee Hae-woo) held the 2022 Spring Semester Foreign Student Graduates ‘Farewell Ceremony’ on the 21st at Kyungdong Hall, Bumin Campus.
The event, organized to build a foreign student network and promote exchanges between current students and graduates, was attended by Park Hyun-tae, Director of the Office of External and International Affairs at Dong-A University, officials from the International Exchange Department, foreign student graduates, current students, graduates, and their families.
This semester, Dong-A University’s foreign student graduates include a total of 110 students: 49 undergraduates and 61 graduate students from various countries such as Vietnam, China, Indonesia, Russia, Uzbekistan, Iraq, Canada, and Peru.

View original imageOn this day, △Jeong Won-ya (Korean Language and Literature) △Zhang Yiwei (Graduate School of Arts) △Rian Mahartika (Graduate School of International Studies) received awards for academic excellence. Additionally, △Jo Hye-rim (Tourism Management) received an award for outstanding Korean language proficiency, and △Nguyen Thi Huong (Business Administration) received an award for outstanding improvement in Korean language skills.
Park Hyun-tae, Director of the Office of External and International Affairs, said in his congratulatory speech, “Due to COVID-19, classes were conducted online, so you must have experienced university life in a new environment. The experiences you had in Korea will be a good foundation for your future life.”
Jeong Won-ya (China, Korean Language and Literature) said, “When I came to Korea alone five years ago to study, everything was unfamiliar and difficult, but thanks to the kind teachers, professors who taught with great love, caring roommates, and the attention and consideration of other foreign friends, I adapted with passion.”
She added, “Although I regret not being able to fully enjoy my time due to COVID-19, it was a journey without regrets built on the best choices, and I wish my alma mater Dong-A University continuous development.”
Mighty Nguyen Huynh (Vietnam, Media Communication), who gave a representative speech on behalf of current students, said, “During my student life in a foreign country where everything was awkward at first, I learned a lot from the advice and daily lives of seniors. I believe that after graduation, they will become exemplary workers in society and show successful achievements, and juniors will always support them.”
