Jung Jin-seok: "Vote Conscience on Lee Jae-myung's Arrest Motion... Hope Not to Become a Traitor in Constitutional History"
Criticism of Pro-JaeMyung Lawmaker Jeong Seong-ho's Visit
"Exchanged Conversations Reminiscent of Mafia in the Movie 'The Godfather'"
[Asia Economy Reporter Geum Bo-ryeong] On the 16th, as the prosecution filed an arrest warrant for Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, regarding the Daejang-dong development preferential treatment suspicion, Jeong Jin-seok, emergency committee chairman of the People Power Party, urged, "Let's vote conscientiously according to the National Assembly's code of ethics."
Jeong, the emergency committee chairman, stated through the emergency committee meeting held at the National Assembly that morning, "Let's ensure that the 21st National Assembly is not recorded in constitutional history as a sinner who betrayed conscience."

Along with this, Jeong strongly criticized Democratic Party lawmaker Jeong Seong-ho, classified as pro-Lee Jae-myung faction, for repeatedly visiting Lee’s close aides who are currently imprisoned since the end of last year. Jeong said, "The exchanged conversations remind me of the mafia in the movie 'The Godfather'," adding, "'Create an alibi,' 'Don't let your mind waver,' 'If this continues, Lee Jae-myung will become president'?anyone can see these as warnings and inducements."
Regarding the remark "If this continues, Lee Jae-myung will become president," Jeong directly criticized, "Despite overwhelming allegations of corrupt crimes, they are deluded into thinking he will become president," and said, "Isn't this a statement that makes one question their mental state?"
Jeong also viewed the so-called 'special visits,' such as changing the meeting location to meet Lee’s close aides, as 'preferential treatment.' Jeong criticized, "If lawmaker Jeong were not the chairman of the National Assembly's Criminal Justice System Reform Special Committee (Sakae Special Committee) or not a member of the National Assembly, would such preferential treatment have been possible?"

Furthermore, Jeong said, "When the fact of the visits was reported, the Democratic Party shamelessly tried to attack the prosecution with a club as a thief would. They claim that the leak of conversation content is a prosecution scenario to arrest Lee," and pointed out, "Why were Kim Yong, Jeong Jin-sang, Kim Seong-tae, and others imprisoned? It is to prevent evidence destruction. Even though there was an attempt to destroy evidence related to Lee’s corruption, should the prosecution remain passive?"
