Suwon City Supports SMEs with Overseas Safety Certification Acquisition Costs... Up to 4.85 Million KRW
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Suwon City in Gyeonggi Province will support the costs required for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to obtain overseas safety certifications.
Suwon City announced that it will recruit startup and small manufacturing companies to participate in the "2023 Overseas Standard Certification Acquisition Support Project" from the 15th of this month to the 15th of next month.
Selected companies will receive reimbursement covering 80% of the total costs necessary for obtaining safety certifications, including certification fees, testing fees, and consulting fees. Each company can obtain certification for up to two products, with a support limit of 4.85 million KRW. The supported fields include 436 standards such as UL, FCC, FDA (USA), and CE (Europe). ISO certifications, which are not product safety certifications, are excluded.
Eligibility for application is startups and small manufacturing companies located in Suwon with export performance of 2 million USD or less last year.
Companies wishing to participate can apply through the Suwon City website.

A city official emphasized, "The process of obtaining safety certifications for each export country is not easy for startups and SMEs," adding, "We will actively support the acquisition of overseas safety certifications so that startups and SMEs can smoothly develop overseas markets."
