[Asia Economy Reporter Seomideum] Lee Kwang-ho, CEO of Munhakgwa Jiseongsa, has been elected as the 13th president of the Korea Publishers Association. His term will last for the next three years.
The Korea Publishers Association held its 24th regular general meeting at 2 p.m. on the 14th and elected the new president through a direct election by its members. This is the first direct election since the association's founding. According to the Korea Publishers Association, President Lee ran as the sole candidate in the direct election and received 98% support.
Newly elected President Lee Kwang-ho stated, "This is an era where the solidarity and participation of publishers are urgently needed to overcome the crisis in publishing," adding, "I will demonstrate leadership in integration and cooperation that can gather the strength and wisdom of publishers to raise social awareness of publishing and restore the socio-cultural network surrounding the publishing ecosystem."
