Samsung Electro-Mechanics to Propose Appointment of Former Financial Services Commission Chairman Choi Jong-gu as Outside Director
Regular General Meeting on the 15th of Next Month
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Ye-ju] Samsung Electro-Mechanics announced on the 14th that it will recommend Choi Jong-gu, Chairman of the Lina Jeonseonggi Foundation, as a new outside director candidate at the regular shareholders' meeting on the 15th of next month.

On the same day, Samsung Electro-Mechanics held a board meeting and decided to submit the agenda for the appointment of Chairman Choi as an outside director at this shareholders' meeting, along with the reappointment of Yeo Yoon-kyung, Professor of Business Administration at Ewha Womans University, approval of the financial statements, and approval of the director remuneration limit.
Chairman Choi has served as Director General of the International Finance Bureau at the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, Standing Commissioner of the Financial Services Commission, Deputy Minister for International Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, and Senior Deputy Governor of the Financial Supervisory Service. He also served as the first Financial Services Commission Chairman (ministerial level) under the Moon Jae-in administration.
