After removing branches tied up during winter and branches and leaves with spots, pest control for overwintering will be conducted next month, and growth management tailored to the characteristics of garden roses will be carried out to bloom beautiful roses in spring (around late May).
To see roses with thick flower stalks, continuous management such as detailed rose shaping, weeding, watering, tying and guiding climbing roses will be carried out after next month.
Additional landscape facilities such as resting spaces and photo zones suitable for tourists' eye levels will be installed, allowing residents and visitors to enjoy a park full of European-style roses when visiting Imsil Cheese Theme Park in May and June.
The county conducted field visits to the Gokseong Rose Garden and Jeonju Arboretum Rose Garden and invited gardener Park Cheolmin, who directly manages garden roses, to provide hands-on pruning training, systematically carrying out pruning work for the four-season rose garden.
Imsil Cheese Theme Park provides flowers year-round, starting with seasonal early flowers (pansy varieties) planted in March, followed by garden roses, hydrangeas, and Korean asters.
With exotic spaces harmonized with European-style buildings, it has established itself as a tourist attraction visited by many couples and families every year.
In particular, when the European-style rose garden, which has received an investment of 9.8 billion KRW, is completed by the end of this year, Imsil Cheese Theme Park is expected to become a wonderful European-style theme park featuring roses and cheese as its main content.
County Governor Shim Min said, “To make Imsil Cheese Theme Park a four-season tourist destination, we will hold a cheese festival with roses in spring, an aqua festival in summer, a cheese festival with chrysanthemums in autumn, and a Santa festival in winter, creating a tourist spot where festivals are held all year round.”
