Naju City Councilor Hwang Kwang-min's Ordinance to Prevent Itaewon Disaster Passed
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Hwang Gwangmin, a member of the Naju City Council in Jeonnam, announced on the 14th that the 'Ordinance on Safety Management of Mass Gatherings in Naju City,' which he proposed as the representative, was passed at the 249th extraordinary session plenary meeting.
The ordinance contains provisions that require efforts in safety management, such as establishing and implementing safety management plans and necessary policies in cooperation with related organizations to prevent various disasters occurring at mass gatherings held within the jurisdiction and to reduce damage.
Councilor Hwang said, "Due to the Itaewon tragedy last year, safety management issues for events where large crowds gather are more important than anything else," and added, "The ordinance on safety management of mass gatherings in Naju City will play a role in preparing and conducting safe events within Naju City."
