Gwangju Buk-gu, Emergency Heating Cost Support for Vulnerable Groups and Tenant Small Business Owners
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, announced on the 13th that it will provide emergency heating cost support to vulnerable groups and tenant small business owners who are struggling due to the recent winter cold wave and soaring heating costs.
This support is independently provided by Buk-gu with a budget of 1.5 billion KRW, separate from the previously announced government and Gwangju city support, and is the first of its kind among Gwangju's autonomous districts.
Buk-gu will support a total of 846 vulnerable households, including single-parent families and Gwangju-type basic livelihood security households excluded from government and Gwangju city support, with heating costs ranging from 100,000 to 200,000 KRW per household. Additionally, nine social welfare facilities such as the Disabled Persons Support Center will receive support ranging from 600,000 to 1.6 million KRW depending on the size of the facility.
For these recipients, heating costs will be paid in cash by the end of this month without a separate application process, by verifying through the social security system for prompt support.
Furthermore, Buk-gu will provide 100,000 KRW in heating cost support to 15,000 tenant small business owners within the district. Eligibility requires annual sales of less than 200 million KRW last year and being in operation as of the announcement date.
Applications will begin on the 14th, and eligible small business owners can apply by submitting relevant documents to Buk-gu Office or the Dong Administrative Welfare Center.
For more details, please check the Buk-gu Office website or contact the Small Business Support Division.
