Air Force Confirms Line of Duty Death for Late Sergeant Lee Yeram
[Asia Economy Reporter Bu Aeri] The military has officially recognized the death of the late Air Force Master Sergeant Lee Yeram as a line-of-duty death.
According to military authorities on the 11th, the Air Force Ordinary Meritorious Service Award Review Committee made the decision on the 9th to classify Sergeant Lee's death as a line-of-duty death. This comes about 1 year and 8 months after her death by suicide in May 2021.
Sergeant Lee had reported sexual harassment by a senior officer while serving in the Air Force 20th Fighter Wing in March 2021, and was subsequently transferred to the 15th Special Mission Wing.
She suffered from coercion and pressure from that officer and other superiors, and died about two months after the incident.
