The economic media CNBC reported this on the 10th (local time), citing Gates' podcast interview with the German economic newspaper Handelsblatt.
Gates emphasized that the development of AI is "the most important innovation." In particular, he predicted that the emergence of AI chatbot ChatGPT could be as significant an event as the invention of the internet. He said, "Until now, AI could read and write but did not understand the content," adding, "New programs like ChatGPT will help with tasks such as writing bills or letters, making numerous office tasks more efficient."
Gates said that generative AI like ChatGPT will "change our world," specifically forecasting that the optimization of reading and writing tasks provided by AI will have a "tremendous impact." He expected effects particularly in the healthcare and education sectors.
