Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, Gwangju Metropolitan City, Dongdaemun-gu, and 29 Others Named 'Excellent Civil Service Institutions'
Announcement of Comprehensive Evaluation Results by Ministry of the Interior and Safety and Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] The institutions that operated the best civil complaint services last year were the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education, Gwangju Metropolitan City, Hanam City in Gyeonggi Province, Yeongyang County in Gyeongbuk Province, and Dongdaemun District in Seoul. The Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission announced the results of the "2022 Comprehensive Evaluation of Civil Complaint Services" conducted on 306 administrative agencies on the 12th.
The comprehensive evaluation of civil complaint services is conducted annually as part of the government work evaluation to improve the level of civil complaint services in administrative agencies.
In particular, this evaluation newly established evaluation indicators for digital civil complaint services, increasing the scoring for each agency's efforts and achievements to improve accessibility for people with disabilities and the elderly.
First, among central administrative agencies, the excellent institutions selected were the Ministry of Employment and Labor, Ministry of the Interior and Safety, Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, Korea Meteorological Administration, and Statistics Korea. Among city and provincial offices of education, Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education and Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Office of Education were selected as excellent institutions.
Among metropolitan local governments, Gyeonggi Province and Gwangju Metropolitan City were selected, and among basic cities, counties, and districts, 23 places including Hanam City in Gyeonggi Province, Yeongyang County in Gyeongbuk Province, and Dongdaemun District in Seoul were selected as excellent institutions.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission will award government prizes to these excellent civil complaint service institutions, and the Ministry of the Interior and Safety plans to provide special grants to outstanding local governments.
