According to the county on the 10th, the Foreign Seasonal Worker Program is a system created to legally employ foreigners to resolve labor shortages. Last year, the county introduced 406 workers and placed them in local fishing households.
This year, the county has been making great efforts to alleviate manpower shortages, receiving an allocation of 1,009 foreign seasonal workers?the largest number invited in Jeollanam-do?from the Ministry of Justice.
With this excellent local government selection, the county will receive incentives such as the ability to additionally employ two foreign seasonal workers per fishing household.
A county official said, “Thanks to the active cooperation of farming and fishing households, the Foreign Seasonal Worker Program has been stably promoted, enabling us to be selected as an excellent local government. We will continue to work harder so that farming and fishing households can work without worrying about labor shortages.”
