Busan City and Ministry of Science and ICT Joint Support
Intelligent Unmanned Automated Smart Logistics System
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Busan City announced that Neotek has filed a patent for the ‘Smart Cargo Integrated Control System using LoRa and LTE Base Station Information’ through the ‘Intelligent Unmanned Automated Smart Logistics System’ R&D project jointly supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT.
This technology ▲supports monitoring of cargo logistics status and location based on LPWA (Low Power Wide Area), ▲enables effective communication regardless of cargo transport location or form through a hybrid LTE (Long Term Evolution) communication unit, and ▲efficiently manages inbound/outbound control and loading positions during cargo loading.
Shippers and transport operators in the Busan area expect the technology to be effective in securing cargo visibility, ensuring safe cargo transport, and flexibly responding to delivery deadlines.
The city plans to prioritize applying the patented technology this year exclusively to cargo handled by transport operators in the Busan area and to conduct integrated testing and demonstration by linking it with the ‘3PL Work Support System.’
Additionally, next year, it plans to support the digital transformation and service advancement of local transport operators.
Jung Im-su, Director of the Busan City Transportation Bureau, said, “This patented technology is one of the technologies developed through the R&D project promoted by our city and the Ministry of Science and ICT, and it will become a core technology supporting the digital transformation and service advancement of the logistics industry in the Busan area in the future.” He added, “This aligns with the direction of ‘industrial digital transformation,’ which the central government (Ministry of Science and ICT) has designated as a key task for strengthening industrial capabilities, and our city will continue to support strengthening the digital capabilities of the local logistics industry.”
