LG Provides Emergency Support of 1 Million USD for Earthquake Relief in Turkiye
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] LG has donated $1 million in relief funds to the Korean Red Cross to help T?rkiye, which suffered severe damage from a strong earthquake. The donated funds will be used for recovery and support for displaced residents in the affected areas in consultation with the Turkish government.
On the 10th, LG Group stated, "We decided to provide relief funds to express our condolences to the people of T?rkiye who lost their homes and suffered great damage due to the unexpected disaster, and to help with the prompt recovery of the affected areas, even if only a little."
LG Electronics' T?rkiye subsidiary also delivered a separate earthquake relief fund through the local nonprofit relief organization Anatolia People's Peace Foundation (AHBAP). Additionally, they are actively considering further support measures necessary for earthquake recovery, such as operating laundromats and providing supplies for rebuilding infrastructure like schools. LG has been operating its local subsidiaries in Istanbul, T?rkiye, since 2008 for LG Electronics and since 2013 for LG Chem.

LG has also provided relief funds and conducted recovery support activities through its local subsidiaries during major earthquakes such as the 2008 Sichuan earthquake in China, the 2011 Japan earthquake, the 2014 Yunnan earthquake in China, the 2015 Nepal earthquake, and the 2018 Indonesia earthquake.
