Secondary Battery Material Company Invests 51 Billion KRW in Gwangyang Port Hinterland Complex
Port Authority Signs Lease Agreement for Sepung Hinterland Complex Tenants
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (President Park Seong-hyun, YGPA) announced on the 8th that it has signed a lease contract with ㈜CIS Chemical, the first tenant company of the Se-pung Port Hinterland Complex in Gwangyang Port.
The Se-pung Port Hinterland Complex is a site where YGPA purchased the Se-pung Industrial Complex near Gwangyang Port (total 333,000㎡) since 2019, considering location conditions, supply timing, economic feasibility, and future expansion, to expand the designation of port hinterland complexes.
The Se-pung Industrial Complex site purchased by YGPA was designated as a Type 1 port hinterland complex in December last year, reflected in the 4th Comprehensive Plan for Port Hinterland Complex Development.
The newly entering ㈜CIS Chemical plans to build a factory on a 10,000-pyeong site and mass-produce high-purity alumina and secondary battery additives, as well as key precursor materials for secondary battery cathode manufacturing such as nickel, cobalt, and lithium, with a total investment amount of 51 billion KRW.
