Kim Jeong-jae "Seoul National University graduate Ahn majored in 'Yonsei'... Cheon Ha-ram is a Lee Jun-seok copycat"
"With the Big Match Opening, All the Hidden People Come Out"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Kim Jeong-jae, a member of the People Power Party classified as 'ChinYoon (pro-Yoon)', criticized candidate Ahn Cheol-soo, who is running for party leader, saying he is "someone who continues to form alliances as it suits him."
On the 7th, on YTN's 'News King Park Ji-hoon', Rep. Kim said, "Candidate Ahn is a Seoul National University graduate, but his major seems to be Yonsei University," adding, "Having nowhere else to go, he has left the party numerous times, formed new parties, resigned and changed leadership many times. He has formed alliances so often," pointing out in this way.
The word 'yeondae' means 'to do something together with others' and is often used to refer to political coalitions, but it is also an abbreviation for 'Yonsei University.' It is a kind of wordplay.
As the presidential office and the pro-Yoon faction continued their focused attacks, Ahn's camp protested, saying that after deciding on candidate unification and even taking the role of transition committee chairman, they were being 'used and discarded.' In response, Rep. Kim said, "Strictly speaking, candidate Ahn had nowhere else to go," adding, "He did not discriminate between left or right, conservative or progressive, and continued to form alliances as it suited him at the time. At that time, he had no choice but to choose the People Power Party."
He continued, "The problem is how well he settles into our party afterward and how well he coordinates with the current president, which seems to have been somewhat lacking," adding, "During the transition committee, candidate Ahn rejected various offers for prime minister or minister positions, and when he was not given the ministers he wanted or his close aides were not appointed, he disappeared. He even demanded that Minister of the Interior and Safety Lee Sang-min resign first, showing a very different stance from the party, so it was an uncomfortable cohabitation with the president."
Rep. Kim pointed out that candidate Ahn used the term 'Yunhaekgwan (Yoon Seok-yeol core associates)' negatively, saying, "Isn't he excessively following former leader Lee Jun-seok?" and brought up the 'anti-Yoon' frame. He said, "The neologism 'Yunhaekgwan' was created by former leader Lee Jun-seok, and candidate Ahn uses the term very negatively," adding, "Also, now Representative Ahn Cheol-soo uses terms like 'YunAn (Yoon-Seok-yeol and Ahn) alliance' or tries to divide the president and the Yunhaekgwan, and I think it is inappropriate for a presidential election candidate to directly involve the president using such terms."
Regarding candidate Cheon Ha-ram, who is conducting a 'Yunhaekgwan resignation movement,' he said, "He is just a Lee Jun-seok avatar," adding, "Candidate Cheon is like a substitute for former lawmaker Yoo Seung-min + a Lee Jun-seok avatar." When asked about the potential impact Cheon might have in the main election, he replied, "He won't be able to match the original," adding, "Since he is a copycat, he won't surpass Yoo Seung-min + Lee Jun-seok."

Regarding concerns about the party leadership election situation, he said, "When there is a big party leadership election, we have to endure this level of noise. The more noisy it is, the more the eventual winners shine," adding, "Former leader Lee, who has been quiet until now, was thought to be keeping his mouth shut due to prostitution allegations, but he has come out again.
