Hope Sharing Campaign Total Fundraising Amount 342.17 Million KRW
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 7th that a total of 342.17 million KRW was raised during the ‘Hope 2023 Sharing Campaign’ held for 62 days from December 1, 2022, to January 31, under the slogan ‘Sharing Together, Sustainable Future,’ recording a final Love Thermometer of 297 degrees.
Although there were concerns that warm-hearted support might decrease as COVID-19 stabilized, the campaign exceeded the target amount of 115.54 million KRW (2,735 KRW per person × population of 42,245) by 226.63 million KRW thanks to the great interest and participation of the residents.
Mayor Kim Yoon-cheol said, “I deeply thank the residents who showed warm sharing by caring for neighbors in need despite these difficult times,” adding, “We will do our best to strengthen the social safety net so that Hapcheon-gun becomes a happy community where no one is left behind.”
The donations and goods collected during the fundraising period will be distributed through the Gyeongnam Community Chest of Korea to support living, medical, and housing expenses for vulnerable neighbors such as elderly living alone, low-income children and youth, and people with disabilities.
