Death Toll in Turkey and Syria Exceeds 360
U.S. President Joe Biden on the 5th (local time in the U.S.) instructed to review support measures for Turkiye and Syria, which have been affected by a strong earthquake.
According to Reuters, the White House issued a statement saying, "The United States is deeply concerned about the devastating earthquake that occurred today in Turkiye and Syria," and added, "We are ready to provide all necessary assistance."

It further explained, "President Biden has directed the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the federal government to seek response measures to help those most affected," and added, "We will continue to closely monitor the situation in cooperation with the Turkiye government."
At around 4:17 a.m. on the 6th (local time), a magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck inland about 33 km from the southern Turkiye city of Gaziantep, and at least 360 people have been confirmed dead so far. The epicenter of the earthquake is near Gaziantep Province and Karamanmara? in southeastern Turkiye, which border Syria and are home to hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees.

The earthquake occurred in the border area between southern Turkiye and northern Syria, destroying many buildings, and the death toll related to the earthquake reported by Turkiye and Syrian authorities continues to rise.
