Ulsan City Declares War on 'Delinquency'... Special Mobile Collection Team Launch Ceremony
576 High-Value Tax Delinquents Owing Over 3 Million Won
Collection Target of 4 Billion Won Out of 9.7 Billion Won This Year
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Ulsan City has declared a 'war' against tax arrears.
On the 6th at 11 a.m., Ulsan City held a launching ceremony for a special mobile tax collection team specialized in collecting high-amount overdue taxes at the City Council's 1st floor Citizen Hall and announced the start of full-scale collection efforts.
About 30 people attended the launching ceremony, including Seo Jeong-wook, Deputy Mayor for Administration, dedicated personnel for collecting high-amount overdue city taxes, fixed-term professional debt collectors, and related officials.
The special mobile collection team plans to collect more than 4 billion KRW out of 9.7 billion KRW owed by 576 high-amount defaulters who each owe more than 3 million KRW, among the total 39 billion KRW in overdue city taxes as of January 1 this year.
The main tasks include systematic collection activities such as tracking the whereabouts of defaulters and investigating hidden assets.
For high-amount and chronic defaulters, strong sanctions will be imposed through public auction of seized real estate, house searches and seizure of movable property, restrictions on licensed businesses, travel bans, and criminal charges.
