Gwangju City to Select 5 New Security Guards Through Open Competitive Recruitment
February 21-23 Registration
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kang Gijeong) announced on the 31st that it will select 5 new security guards this year through an open competitive process.
Security guards are responsible for protecting and guarding government buildings and facilities at the headquarters, affiliated agencies, and business offices.
This year, the recruitment of security guards plans to select 5 people considering the demand due to vacancies such as retirements, and will be conducted through an open competitive process to ensure fair and transparent talent recruitment.
Earlier, Gwangju City announced the security guard recruitment plan on its website on the 27th.
Applications can be submitted from February 21 to 23 through the Local Government Internet Application Center.
The recruitment exam will be conducted in four stages: 1st written test (March 18), 2nd document screening, 3rd physical fitness test, and 4th interview.
The subjects for the 1st written test are Korean History and Private Security Theory (including the Security Guards Act), and successful candidates will be determined within 1.5 times the number of planned recruits.
Successful candidates of the written test will undergo a 2nd document screening to verify eligibility and additional points, followed by the 3rd physical fitness test (3 events: grip strength, sit-ups, 100m sprint) and the 4th interview to decide the final successful candidates.
Martial arts black belts, holders of general security supervisor certificates, and employment support target groups will receive additional points.
Detailed exam information can be found on the Gwangju City website under ‘City News - Exam and Personnel Information’. For inquiries related to applications and exams, contact the Gwangju City Personnel Policy Officer.
Jeong Younghwa, the city’s Personnel Policy Officer, said, “We hope for active applications from excellent talents who will work with Gwangju City,” and added, “Starting with this year’s security guard recruitment, we will conduct fair recruitment in various fields.”
