Assemblyman Kim Hoe-jae Appointed as Member of the National Assembly Special Ethics Committee
Second Half Ethics Special Committee Begins Ethical Review of 35 Pending Cases
Rep. Kim: "We Will Do Our Best to Build a Trusted National Assembly"
[Yeosu=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Cheol-hoon] Kim Hoe-jae, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea (Jeonnam Yeosu-si Eul), was appointed as a member of the National Assembly Ethics Special Committee (Ethics Committee) on the 30th.
The National Assembly Ethics Committee held its first plenary meeting on the same day (the 30th) and appointed the chairman and secretary.
The Ethics Committee reviews matters related to the ethical examination, qualification review, and disciplinary actions of National Assembly members.
The activity period of the National Assembly Ethics Committee for the second half of the term is until May 29, 2024.
The chairman of the Ethics Committee is Assemblyman Byun Jae-il (Democratic Party of Korea), and the secretaries are Assemblyman Kim Cheol-min (Democratic Party of Korea) and Assemblyman Song Eon-seok (People Power Party).
The Democratic Party members include Kim Hoe-jae, Song Ok-joo, Lee Soo-jin, and Lee Jang-seop, while the People Power Party members include Kim Mi-ae, Noh Yong-ho, Yoo Sang-beom, Lee Jong-sung, and Jang Dong-hyuk.
Currently, there are 35 cases pending before the Ethics Committee.
Assemblyman Kim Hoe-jae said, "I will work to remove politics of confrontation and conflict and strive for politics of integration and people's livelihood," adding, "As a member of the Ethics Committee, I will do my best to conduct ethical reviews that meet the public's expectations and create a National Assembly trusted by the people."
